Nearly two centuries of worship on the same Eastern Cape ground.
Lesseyton Methodist Church has gathered the community of Lesseyton, ten kilometres north of Komani (Queenstown), since 1847 — first as a Wesleyan mission among the abaThembu, and today as a living congregation of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa.

Who we are
Lesseyton began as one of the earliest Wesleyan Methodist mission stations and industrial schools in the Eastern Cape. Alongside Healdtown, Salem, Peddie and Kamastone, it trained generations of teachers, artisans and ministers — including leaders whose influence reached far beyond this valley.
Today the congregation carries that inheritance forward: worship in isiXhosa and English, ministry to young and old, and care for the historic buildings entrusted to us.
